On a freezing cold Monday morning in Decatur County, Georgia twenty Whooping cranes followed an ultralight aircraft as an anxious crowd waited below with cameras ready.

Soon they came over the treetops and right overhead as they started their next to last leg of the 1500 mile migration from Necedah NWR in Wisconsin to St. Marks NWR in Florida.
